Skylapser.com was originally founded by Jay Shaffer to provide astrophotography and time-lapse photography tips, techniques, and tutorials. Skylapser.com is also the portal for the Deep Sage Nine Observatory, Shaffer’s home observatory in remote Taos county, New Mexico USA.

- Lumix G100 Micro 4/3 camera for 4K resolution wide-field and all-sky time-lapse capture
- Canon RP full-frame camera with 14mm f2.8 lens and TeSeek Nano Tracker for Motion Time-lapse.
- Celestron C-90 SCT telescope, with Skywatcher All-View Alt-Az mount and SynScan Wi-Fi adapter.
- Celestron Nexstar 8SE 8″ SCT telescope running StellarMate OS software to control the telescope
- ZWO SeeStar S50 smart telescope in equatorial mode.
- Ambient Weather WS_2902 weather station
